Ann Blackmore
Ann Blackmore
The image is of very poor quality at one side (the important part) of the image. Can anyone make out her father's name? As a side note the bride and groom have had their terms reversed, the groom is a spinster and the bride a bachelor.

Presumably their occupations have been reversed too. I think her father's name is Thomas Blackmore. Can't make out his occupation. But I suppose it's possible that the fathers' first names could have been swopped too, or do you know for sure that John Brown's father was called John? One of the witnesses is a Thomas Brown.

I was hoping the father of Ann was James. I know nothing about John Brown, Ann is possibly my relative.
I've just found a US tree and Blackmore is the only surname that we share. The tree has no parents, or place of birth for Ann or John. I haven't married my Ann off so I looked to see if there was a marriage in Somerset that would fit, which this one could if the father was James. Thomas could be Ann's brother or grandfather though. James, Ann's father, was a labourer.

The first father is John (Brown).

How odd. This is from a DNA match but it is a paternal match and Blackmore is my maternal side. None of the other names ring any bells at all

In that case, I don't suppose this will help, but there are a couple of public trees on ancestry which show James Blackmore as the father of the Ann who married John Brown.

I'll have a look Kate, one of them might have information besides the parish register.

I meant it won't help with figuring out how your DNA match is related to you, but of course it may help with info on Ann.

ok, I misunderstood.
There is always the possibility we are related in 2 different ways. Anything for Dad's side though is not obvious.
