There is a birth reg for a Rose Wallett Oct-Dec 1899 Aston district on the GRO index. Not managed to find them travelling yet.

On the 1920 US census the Wallet family are in Maryland with the year of immigration shown clearly as 1885 for William, Florence sr, Rose and Florence jr, but Rose is 20 and Florence jr 18 so this is obviously not correct. William and Florence sr are shown as naturalized in 1897. On the 1930 census William's year of immigration is 1888 and Florence sr's is 1895.
Ooh, ancestry has baptisms at St Mary, Aston Brook, Birmingham, Warwickshire, 19 Nov 1899, for Rose Wallett and Violet Wallett, both born 25 Oct 1899, parents William Frederick and Florence of 238 Victoria Road, father's occupation Professional Rider. There is a birth reg for Violet on the same page as that Rose Wallett birth reg in post #11. I can't see a death registration for Violet in England so maybe she died in the US. Edit - yes, Find a Grave has Violet Wallett born 25 Oct 1899 died 28 Feb 1900 buried Henderson, Vance County, North Carolina, USA, so we should be looking for the Wallett family travelling to the USA between those dates. |

Wait, Florence jr was supposedly born in Austria around 1901, and the gravestone with Violet's details on it also have a child who died in 1912, so it could be that Violet died in Austria or elsewhere in Europe and is not actually buried in North Carolina but just commemorated there. I can't find the Wallett family entering the USA between 1899 and 1900.

Paul Dillon was granted a music license for the Red Lion in August 1881.
He advertised the completion of his purchase of the Red Lion on 18th June 1881.

FamilySearch has the birth of Frederick Derrick Wallett 27 Nov 1904 Vance, North Carolina, parents William F Wallett and Florence Mae Dillon. But I still can't find the family travelling to the US between 1901 and 1904!

I was looking at a passenger list from Southampton Mar 1895 earlier with the following names on it, all single:
Edward Dillon Professional 23 Ernest Dillon Professional 22 Lills Dillon (female) Professional 20. Now it looks possible that it could be Florence on her earlier trip to the US (remember she got married in Illinois in Aug 1895) I will see if I can find out further details. Edit - it is the Paris, Mar 16 1895, bound for New York. This is from the UK Outward Passenger Lists. |

Found them arriving in New York now and it looks likely to be Florence, given the occupation, don't you think?
