They seem to have baptised the children as a job lot. Sophia was my ancestor. She was born about 1822.

How about this death? Jan-Mar 1861 Cockburn, Rachel Clutton 5c 471.

Burial on FreeREG: St Luke, Priston, Somerset, 20 Jan 1861 Rachel Cockburn age 76, abode Paulton.

I know from a certain old advert that Cockburn is pronounced Coburn, but Soundex doesn't seem to know!

Exactly, Elizabeth. I only found it by searching for Co*b*rn* on ancestry.

Perhaps using that logic I shall search for the marriage again!

thanks. I tried Soundex as well without any luck. I have seen lots of misspellings of Colborn but not that one. I don't suppose Joseph is there as well she said hopefully.
