Witnesses at her wedding were W H King and P Barry (serial witness), in case that's any help.

That 1841 census has "No" for born in same county, Maggie.

So she could possibly be the Laetitia Adams who was baptised 11 Oct 1778 at Guilden Morden, Cambridgeshire, parents Thomas and Frances (from FamilySearch). There are baptisms for a couple of children (James and Ann) with parents of those names at St Giles Cripplegate 16 Mar 1783, father's occupation brewer's servant, so it could be the same family and they would have moved from Cambridgeshire to Cripplegate when Letitia was a child. We need to find more to prove it, though! Also there is a Charles Adams baptised 2 Jun 1776 at Guilden Morden, again with parents Thomas and Frances.

Thank you.

I never thought to look at whether born in county (silly I know) just assumed she was born in London for some reason.

I have to go out today but will look into that information later when I get back.

I think you're right about this Laetitia don't know how to prove it though.

Looked for wills can't find any. Checked census common name Adams especially around Cripplegate but I expect they're all related. If I could find another sibling other than Charles (think he died before 1841) that was born in Cambridgeshire and lived until 1851 possibly but how to connect them back!

These are her and George's children:-

George Oliphant 1799 –
Mary Ann Frances Oliphant 1802 – 1872
Letitia Elizabeth Oliphant 1804 –
William Oliphant 1807 – 1880
Sara Catherine Oliphant 1808 –
Sophia Matilda Oliphant 1811 – 1872
John Thomas Edward Oliphant 1814 –
Eliza Eleanor Oliphant 1817 – 1887
Caroline Jane Oliphant 1822 –

I have an index of some Cambridgeshire wills - Isle of Ely. Not sure how much of Cambridge it actually covers. Do you want me to check for Adams in the area? Letitia might be mentioned as a grandchild.

That's very kind of you to offer.

I have looked into Thomas and Frances the parents of the Laetitia born/baptised in Guiden, Cambridgeshire and obviously Thomas' name is Adams and Frances is Brett if I found the right marriage.

So the names of their parents Adams and Brett seems a bit of a long shot that they would leave a will but later I'll see if I can work out/find information on Thomas and Frances.

Hi Maggie, I did check (there were a lot of Adams in Cambridgeshire!) but the book I have covers the Consistory Court of Ely, and Guiden is in the Archdeaconry Court, so no joy, I'm afraid
