Thanks for your interest, Kite. I suppose William Andrew didn't have to leave a will, but I'd love a mention of "Andrew Mill" or "Roughtown". "Upper Mill" isn't enough.

Saddleworth is quite a difficult place to research as the families there intermarry and there are a lot of people with the same four or five surnames. Furthermore, you have to look at PRs for Yorkshire, Cheshire and Lancashire when you are searching.

This might be the William Andrew whose admon I have:

Groom's Name: William Andrew
Bride's Name: Ann Lawton
Marriage Date: 1779
Marriage Place: Saddleworth, Yorkshire, England
Indexing Project (Batch) Number: M13533-7
System Origin: England-VR
Source Film Number: 1484393
Reference Number: 2:39M174T

Of course, Ann Andrew doesn't have to be his first wife.

Hmm, this just could be the baptism of Mary Andrew:

Name: Mary Andrew
Gender: Female
Baptism/Christening Date: 02 Nov 1788
Baptism/Christening Place: Mossley, Lancashire, England
Father's Name: Willm. Andrew
Father's Birthplace:
Father's Age:
Mother's Name: Betty
Mother's Birthplace:
Mother's Age:
Indexing Project (Batch) Number: I04005-1

It's just down the road from Saddleworth.
The date ties in pretty well with the census and Mary's death certificate.

Isn't that the same baptism we found before, Elizabeth?

Since I posted this, the image of the marriage has appeared on Ancestry.
Betty is stated as being from the parish of Ashton under Line.
