There is a William Moore (cordwainer)aged 35 in Josephs Lane, Stoke Next Guildford, Surrey in 1841. Also living at the address are Mary (40), William (9) and James (3). All born in county.

Just found a marriage for a William Moore to Mary Ann Bullen on 4 July 1830 in Merrow, near Guildford so possibly this is the William in the above census.

How sure are you of William's death in 1851?

I have found a widowed William Moore, aged 64, born in Horsley, in the 1861 census in Cobham listed as father. Head of household is Edmund Moore (26) & both are Ag Labs.

Hi Sue

I've just got back from a trip to my Mum's and have only just seen your posts. Many thanks, I'll look into the information you've provided when I've caught up with the washing!

Hi Sue

I've had a look now and think what you've found is great. I got an 1851 death from the indexes but of course it didn't give age and its a common name (I've got a William Moore in my family tree too!)

Many thanks again for your time and trouble. Nell xx
