Pallot's Marriage Index shows they married by licence, if that's any help.

I went to Westminster Archives some years ago in the early days of my research and checked the original for this marriage but to my shame I made no note of witnesses or any details of the licence. Looking back I'm not even sure why I bothered to go if I didn't get any extra information!

Let's hope that FMP or Ancestry get their act together soon and put Westminster records on line so that I can have another look.

Yes, because if the age at death is correct then she was a minor when she got married, so the licence or the marriage entry might have some info about one or other of her parents.

The marriage has since been added to FMP. The witnesses were Samuel Pride, who was probably the sexton of St James, and Ann Wilson. I can find no relationship.

I also sent for the marriage licence which didn't tell me anything new apart from saying that Mary was of 21 yrs and upwards so either she was lying then or the age at death is incorrect.
