From Norman Straughan aged 15 to his aunt Annie. His mother had died when he was 5 and he lived at his aunt's house in West Wittering but frequently stayed with another aunt in Eastbourne or his grandparents in Edenbridge.

Postmark Eastbourne 26 May 1929 to Mrs L Crisp, Rose Cottage, West Wittering, Chichester, Sussex

"Dear Aunty, having a nice time with lovely weather here. Coming home on Monday love from xxxx Me xxx"

This is my Aunt Violet Lilian Poyner, known as Lily taken about 1927, with family cat in her lap. She later worked in a pet shop, so got her love for animals very early on.

Vincent George Stanbridge and Emily Strickland were married on 3 September 1924 at Carlton Street Methodist Chapel, Burton on Trent, Staffordshire. (This building is now a doctors surgery.)

Vincent was my husbands great uncle.

I don't know much about this photo, but it seems to be a school group ( or maybe a Sunday School ) and I think it was taken in Cheshire in about 1928
