There used to be someone call into the pub few years ago with Claytons in her tree forgot her name though ;;;used to say have drink the sun is half way over the yardarm or something like that ;;
goes of shaking head at lack of memory

What did George do in WW1?

tHERE IS LIKELY TO BE A BIG GAP at least betewwn 1915 and 1919 if he were away at war. A miscarriage sometime could make the gap even bigger.

Hello Phoenix, George was in a reserved occupation in Lincoln and wasn't called up.

I haven't ruled out the fact that he may have been in the slammer! No family rumours or anything, just another fantasy of mine!
