There is a James Kenyon baptised 3 Oct 1761 at Accrington (in the Altham PR's) with no parents' details given. My James got married there, by banns, on the 20th Oct, which it seems was a Tuesday, so I guess the banns would have been read on the 4th, 11th and 18th Oct. Seems likely that the vicar told him he should be baptised before he could be married, doesn't it? Some public trees have his parents as Richard and Catherine, and it does seem likely that my James's father would have been named Richard as this was the name of James's first two sons.
