Not a lot of pixels to work with there, Jood. Can you post the originals full size out to a server, like Photobucket or Google blogger or whatever, and then insert them here using the URL of the image so someone can pick up a better repro to play with?

p.s. I like Auntie Kate!

I will try again Janet - the person who sent them to me only sent them small, and I tried photo bucket who didn't want anything to do with them. Let me have another go.

I saved them both as gif - which I'd forgotten to do before - but still am getting error messages. Is there another site I can open them in beside Photobucket?

Shouldn't you be in bed? lol

I don't know if anyone else will come along, but if not I will have a go, as getting rid of folds and scraches is the only thing I've learned to so successfully on photobucket!! Don't know if you saw this one?

http://www.genealogistsforum.co.uk/F...ad.php?t=15173

which sadly isn't my best effort.

However, it does take me a VERY, VERY LONG TIME (probably because I don't use the right methods to do the work!!) if the damage goes through an important part like their face etc, so perhaps you could tell me which one you want first! (I might run out of steam after one lol!!)

*hopes someone else gets here first* lol

Better than scanning at 600, is to scan at 300 and increase the scale but you need to watch the file size doesn't get HUGE if you're emailing or submitting your pic to a website.

Can't give you an absolute scale % as each pic varies ~ but if your pics are postcard size, you could try 150% and see.

Very much out of practice at the moment haven't done any restoration for ages. Also trying to get to grips with a new program.

Haven't got time to do the other one I'm afraid.
