Ancestry DNA Test

Looking to compare notes with others who have taken this test.

I'm OK with the ethnic mix, although it's not quite what I was expecting. I am unsure how I can be 16% Irish when there is no Irish blood in the direct line in the last 200 years. Maybe that's just osmosis from spending five years of my life mostly in the Four Provinces Club.

I'm now looking at the matches. I have a match with someone I expected to have a match with, which is good. I don't match with someone I expected to match with, which is a concern. I've now had a new match, estimated at second cousin, from someone who doesn't have any of 'my' surnames in her tree.

Is anybody having real luck with these matches or are they like GR 'hot matches'?
