Ooh! Was Thomas married to someone else before his marriage to Ann??

Name: John Eyton
Event Type: Birth
Birth Date: 18 Jul 1736
Birthplace: Biddlesden, Buckinghamshire
Father's Name: Thomas Eyton
Mother's Name: Dorty Eyton
Affiliate Publication Number: RG6_1599

He was born c. 1703, as he was 73 when he died in 1776 (Shona's information).

This would account for John.

From the Northamptonshire PRs now on Ancestry I have found this baptism:

Name: Thomas Eaton
Event Type: Baptism
Birth Date: 30 Mar 1704
Baptism Date: 1 May 1704
Baptism Place: Grendon, Northamptonshire, England
Father: Thos Eaton
Mother: Ann Eaton
Parish as it Appears: Grendon

http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin...off=&ml_rpos=2

I wouldn't normally make the link but Thomas Eaton's will states:
"Item I Give Devise and Bequeath
unto my said son John Eaton All those my several Pieces
and Parcels of Arable Land Ley Meadow and Pasture
Ground lying and being dispersedley in the Common and
Open Fields Parish and Precincts of Grendon in the County
of Northampton
containing by Estimation Eight Acres be the
same more or less and now in the Occupation of Douglas Steer
Together with all and singular the Rights Members and
Appurtenances whatsoever to the aforesaid Premises belonging
or in any wise appertaining And all other my Lands Tenements
and Hereditaments whatsoever – To Hold the said Premises
with their Appurtenances unto and to the the use of my said Son
John Eaten his Heirs and Assigns for ever"

So I'm wondering whether I can claim the Grendon baptism as his?
