I did consider that - I did find a strange census last night I'll post a clip in a minute.

Probably nothing but who knows.

This is transcribed by FMP - Ancestry might be different.
The surname of the children is definitely SAWYER>
Why is Elizabeth using a different surname? I can't find a marriage to a Mr Harker/Harkin for her. (It looks like Harker/Harkin on the image)

Where did Frederick come from??
Thank you.

I think this is a possible family connection that's for sure.

Weird it supports the information that ElizabethHerts found on an Elizabeth Sawyer born to Richard and Elizabeth with a son RIchard on the 1841 census but is it my Elizabeth?

Could that be Benge but what is Charles' name is it Benge or Bene and is his name Charles? Can't read any of it to be honest.

Another red herring I suspect Elizabeth's age is 25 on that census!

Edit to say: from all the documentation I have Elizabeth was born in 1826'ish so not so unlikely I think I thought it was the 1841 census when I posted that reference to her age - tsk slaps my own wrists for not paying attention!

Maggie, could you put the reference up for the link on the last post (i.e. the Census ref. no.) as I don't have Ancestry and can't view it.

I think I know the one you mean because I found a BENE with a SAWYER, if I remember correctly.

Class: HO107; Piece: 1466; Folio: 7; Page: 7; GSU roll: 87787.

I don't think it's her by the way but I could be wrong. It could be her but her husband is a printer and born somewhere totally different! It just caught my eye Bene and Sawyer. What do you think?

Yes, that's the one I saw. It's very confusing and the writing is terrible, which doesn't help.
