Ellen Maria Horn(E)
This is Ellen in 1881: http://search.ancestry.co.uk/iexec?h...=&pid=21412875
She is probably 19 months rather than 19 years old. Here she is in 1891, living at the same address in Wonersh, Surrey, aged 10: http://search.ancestry.co.uk/iexec?h...=&pid=18406570 This might be her in 1901, though age is 5 years out: http://search.ancestry.co.uk/iexec?h...c=&pid=5063700 Then I find this: http://search.ancestry.co.uk/iexec?h...c=&pid=7721543 Okay, the age is out by ten years, though that might be to narrow the gap. But whoever that Ellen is, where is she on earlier censuses? Where is her marriage? From childhood I knew the names of my mother's great aunts, so I assume that Nell was alive until the 1930s at least, but is that her? Can anyone find her in 1911?

Hmm. I think the 1901 entry is a red herring. There appears to be an Ellen/Nellie Niner or Ninner floating around who marries a Joseph Smith. Her father was Harry.

There is a possible marriage in 1888, and if this is the right one, then her age on the second marriage is about right and she is not your Ellen:

I know in retrospect that this is the right woman as Mabel Tubbs is HER visitor, not her employers': their mothers were sisters.
