I've added some extra details, as I now have his will and have transcribed it. There was another son, the eldest of the family, William, as I suspected.
I also have William's will. Many thanks to Hebden Bridge History Society. |

I have now established that Thomas was the son of John Jackson, thanks to the help of Hebden Bridge Family History Society, which confirms his baptism.

Heartfelt thanks to Hebden Bridge Literary & Scientific Society (Local History). again - they have just sent me the memorial inscription for Thomas and Betty - see above.
They have been so very helpful. This MI has only just been transcribed and hasn't yet got onto the published list on the internet. Last edited by ElizabethHerts; 14-11-13 at 22:21. |

Today we visited Heptonstall with Julie in heavy showers. We were walking through the graveyard when OH suddenly found the gravestone lying flat on the ground with many, many others. We have duly photographed it and I'm very chuffed because there are hundreds in the graveyard.

Well, Borthwick had the will after all! Just found on FMP, and it wasn't there when I looked orginally!
