Not sure Kite......
I find it hard to believe all these paintings were owned by Myles. Who was the Earl Grosvenor? Of course "Blue Boy" may be different to "A Blue Boy" as well. One of the Peiter Neeffs paintings is "Christ Driving the Money Changers out of the Temple" It is in the Seattle Art Gallery. Raphael's The Virgin and Child with St John is in the auction as well. There's lots of portraits. Van Dyck's "Portrait of Prince Eugene" Joshua Reynolds "Portrait of Lady Wynn as St Cecilia" I'm fairly sure the Danby drawings were all kosher as Myles was one of his financial backers apparently.

Ta.....I'll have a read. I probably could have found that myself, but my brain is stuck in this catalogue.
He also had a wax model done by Percy of Charles James Fox, who apparently was a Whig pollie of the era.

Sorry, Merry, we crossed. Possible. I have found a few paintings in this catalogue with seemingly several versions, all "originals"....lol

Oh......he also had "Mitchell's Australian Expeditions" 2 vols....which was only written in 1839. Myles died in 1840.
Oddly, that seems rather sad to me. Why on earth wouldn't Lucretia have kept some of these? I wonder if it had anything to do with Myles being a staunch non-con and the Clarks all being staunch C of E??

Kite...not sure the Grosvenor lot would have had much to do with the Ariels. I don't think their politics was similar....

Did Lucretia move out of the house, or continue living there on orange boxes?
(When my 2xg-grandmother's home was sold in 1946 there was a massive list of household goods - nothing grand like the list above, but things like 40 linen sheets, twelve pairs of sugar tongs and 24 salt cellars. There hadn't been more than two people living in the seven bedroomed house for over 60 years)
