Anthony Hunt

This is Anthony Hunt's funeral notice for 1925. It says he was to be buried at the Presbyterian Section at Rookwood. Margaret is likely to be there too.

Rookwood Independant cemetery website says Anthony is buried here:
Denomination Presbyterian
Section 5E
Grave Number 0001634

but does not mention his wife.

On second thought I don't know Margaret would be there. The website normally mentions others in the grave.

I can't find a newspaper notice for Margaret in 1949. Sorry.

Hi Toni

Yes I have been using the Trove site & I did find out about Anthony Hunt being at Rookwood about 4 to 5 days ago. (Info & map already printed off Rookwood web site 4 days ago) & I will be going for a visit sometime this week.
I also called Rookwood 4 days ago & he is buried by himself ???
I also have ordered Margaret Hunt (Sadlier) death certificate 2 days ago so I'm hoping to get the info off that.
I have been comparing BDM's ,Trove & other sites to make sure I get as close as possible to the correct info about my family.
I have found on Trove everyone in the deaths, etc that I have been looking for except Margaret Sadlier which has me stumped.
I have been talking to the rest of the family & I got some info from them (on one side that I have never met before) but very, very little info on Margaret Sadlier except she supposedly lived to 101 which is not quite correct(but close) & she lived with Tillie Hunt.
This is interesting because if we had a g grandmother that lived to the age of 99 than why didn't we hear anything about it from my side of the family.
As I said on the other post the more info you find the more questions need answers.
Thanks again for the info guys as it's been great help.

Scott

Do you know when Tillie Hunt died and where she is buried?

Just wondering if they are together?

It is also possible that Margaret was cremated and they put her ashes with her husband but they didn't tell the cemetery.

Was your side of the family aware of Tillie and what happened to her? If not maybe the 2 sides lost touch? Like my Mum and yours?

Tillie Hunt married Alveen Moffitt in 1949 and died in 1967.

From the Ryerson Index -
MOFFITT Tillie Lisbeth Francine Death notice 18AUG1967 Death late of Merrylands

With such a late marriage, I don't think there would have been any children.

Alveen died in 1970 but I cannot see a Ryerson notice for him.

I also think it very possible that Margaret was cremated, but fortunately her death certificate should say so.

Someone with an ancestry sub could check for Alveen and Tillie in the Electoral Rolls, which for NSW go up to 1980.

Tillie was cremated at Pinegrove cemetery in 1967.
I found this out on the net but don't know where.
Pinegrove opened in 1962.
Margaret died in 1949 in the district of Burwood.
Tillie had a son out of wed lock in 1924.
His name was Harold Francis Hunt.
He died in 1970.
I have made contact with 2 of his sons.
They don't know where Margaret is buried or cremated.
I don't know how long it will take for Margaret's death cert to arrive but hopefully all will be revealed.

Make sure you record the source for every piece of information you discover. Bear in mind if you find someone else's unsourced information it might turn out to be incorrect!

Yes you are right Merry. I have recorded most information but I missed saving some of it.
I have learned my lesson now.
As far as someone else's information being incorrect you are dead right on that one. I have found a fair bit of other peoples information not correct.

I just can't believe how addictive researching your families past can be.
I'm an addict now.

Scott, I asked before (post #2 of this thread) but not sure whether you saw my question as I haven't seen an answer:

You have posted your thread on the General Discussion board, which can only be seen by registered members of the site, and which is regularly "pruned" of old threads. Would you like me to move it to our Research Questions board, which is open to everyone to view including non-members (and search engine bots) and which doesn't get "pruned"?

There is also a "Sensitive Research" board which does not get pruned but is not open to non-members and search engines so I could move it there instead if you prefer?
