Here's Hannah Sancton's burial, mistranscribed as Samton:
St. Lawrence Jewry Interred in the Great Vault Nov 29th 1811 aged 29 years. There's another burial on the next page for Hannah Sancton, died March 31st aged 2 years. Interred in the Great Vault April 3rd 1812. The address for both of them is given as Cateaton Street. http://search.ancestry.co.uk/iexec?h...c=&pid=7125458 |

Thanks Kate, Shona and Mary you have been busy.
I went to the library to access Ancestry late this afternoon and found the marriage registrations of Thomas Bell and Anna Maria Russell; Edward Bell and Mary Ann Owen; Maria Bell and William Duguid (Master Mariner - whose father was an Officer in the Army). Unfortunately this time when I opened GF and Ancestry, the links on GF wouldn't work and it kept asking me to sign in to Ancestry which I already had open.. So I went searching for Mary Ann Owen's baptism that someone Maggie found for me .. (Also Mary Ann wife put Hackney as birth place there is a baptism for a Mary Ann Owen approx right year and at St John's Hackney sorry on iPhone so can't get link - just in case it turns out to be the right Mary! Found it yesterday.) The one that I found was 1/1/1817 for Mary Ann Owen dau of William and Mary Owen, G?rove Place, Hackney, Lieutenant in the Army. This doesn't exactly tally with her birth age according to Census 1814/5 but if he was in the Army he could have been moving around. Julie Last edited by tenterfieldjulie; 11-03-13 at 08:12. |

Sorry, Julie, I expect the ancestry links on here are to the UK site but you would probably have been using the Australian one.
