The only death registration I can see that fits the burial and his age at death is this one:
John Pearson Dec qtr 1921 9c 410 age 57 Wortley, West Riding of Yorkshire Wortley is 30 miles away from Rotherham. have you any reason to believe he could have died there?

Hi Marg
There is a good possibility that could be him. I dont know for sure that he died in Rotherham but was living there in 1911 and buried there. However, his family did end up living in the outer areas of Rotherham/Sheffield etc so he could have been visiting or staying with relatives and died there. Ive noted that reference for if I decide to buy the cert (sadly ive got far too many on my own tree that I need to buy first). Regards
