Charles Lea - fill the gaps!
Charles Lea was the son of Samuel Lea and his wife Mary Cope (Hancock).
DOB 30th January 1881 at Wheelock, Cheshire. He's with his parents in 1881 and 1891. https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageview...15?pId=1503742 https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageview...24?pId=1539262 When he married Icobel or Isabel Cozens in 1912, he was working and living in South Shields. By 1921 the family was in St Albans. I can't find him in 1901 or 1911. He was probably working away from home. He is stated to be single on his marriage certificate in 1921. I have only just realised about the 20 missing years! |

What's his occupation in 1921, Elizabeth? And in 1912 if you have it?

This looks to be him in 1911 because there is also a Thomas William Lea, which fits with the 1881 census that you posted:
https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageview...e&pId=22246245 I think it says he is a navvy.

1921 Carbonizer (Gas Works) and Foreman
1912 (marriage) Gas works manager I've seen a Charles Lea, house painter, with Harriet (Pilkington) in 1911, married 1907. Will check the 2021 Census. |

We can discount him, they are all together in 1921.
