This is the first one; the second one is the child in this entry, but I won't put his name in case he is still alive. If you don't know for sure that he is deceased, can you please delete his name from your post, Glen?

He's deceased, killed in WWII when just 23. Commemorated at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii.

The Queen Elizabeth, Southampton to New York, departure date 22 Jan 1958.
Goulson Lucy dob 30 Apr 1886 single, address 6 Ridgeway Rd, Salisbury, Wilts. Ret'd. Citizen of UK and USA, resident of USA.

She is listed in the "C" section so maybe a typo for Coulson? There is a Lucy Violet Coulson birth registered in the right quarter.

Not sure who he might be, the name and occupation fit a few in my tree but none really fit the age. Possibly a Joseph born 1793, a surgeon who died near Sleaford in 1823 but nothing else comes close.

The Lucy I can discount, one born the right year but she married in 1908

Thanks for looking

The only extra info you would get from the image for Job Goulson's passport application is the exact date - 28 Sep 1854 - and the passport number - 17465.

Sounds like one of the Durham/Newcastle lot, not linked to me as far as I know. As for Job it's handy to know the date, I have copies of letters he sent back to England detailing his improvements to gas meters and references in the Mechanics Institute. Looks like he had plans for something though he finished up living by the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin and not in the USA.

Edit

His sister went to America (found that out with a thread on here), wonder if he was planning to go there because she was over there?
