What happened to this couple?
George Williamson was born in Ridg(e)mo(u)nt, Bedfordshire in 1855, son of Thomas and Ann. The family moved to the Clerkenwell area of London in about 1860.
1861 - Piece: 188; Folio: 6; Page: 15 1871 - Piece: 377; Folio: 69; Page: 20 I'm sure he's the George who married Catherine Holmes in 1877 at St Peter Clerkenwell. The daughter of John (a tailor born Ireland) and Catherine, she gives her age as 20 but I think she was about 27 and born Whitechapel. I notice her sister Bridget knocks a few years off her age when she marries as well. 1851 - Piece: 1545; Folio: 234; Page: 8 1861 - Piece: 212; Folio: 93; Page: 11 1871 - not found yet In 1881, George is at 172 St John's Street, Clerkenwell in lodgings, aged 25 married and born Bedfordshire and I can't find Catherine. 1881 -Piece: 347; Folio: 20; Page: 10 Thereafter, I can't find either of them and have got into that going round in circles thing:-) There is a George Williamson born c1855 Clerkenwell on census married to Alice Rosina who is my George's cousin. |
