Patrick O'Connor & Family of Glenastar, Limerick
Hi Merry,
Some time back you found for me Ellen O'Connor's two brothers' birth registrations. Both from the Collection Ireland Births and Baptisms, 1620-1881. John O Connor, Born 23 Jun 1872 at Limerick, Ireland. Parents Patrick O Connor and Bridget Kennelly. Index. No. C70150-4. System: Ireland-ODM, Film No. 255860. Michael O'Connor, Born 8 Mar 1878 at Limerick, Ireland. Parents Patrick O'Connor and Bridget Kenneally O'Connor. Index. No. C00634-2, Sydney: Ireland-EASy, Film No. 256001. Ref. No. v 5 p 598. I would really like to purchase both certificates in the hope it gives me more leads on Peter's grandmother. Can you please tell me where I can purchase these or what to do to find out? Many thanks. Thanks Kate and Libby. If I can find a more exact location than Limerick for where they were born, I will probably float to Ireland I will be so excited.

Kate, On the form a Mandatory field was Address of Place of Birth (Hospital/Home) which I do not know, so I emailed GRO giving all others details and asking how I could obtain this. It will be interesting to see what they reply.

I finally got around to ordering John O'Connor's birth cert from the GRO.
To buy online is E8 Cert + E2 Search + E2 Post. The bit I just discovered is that is says my order will be shipped to my address ...... I might to get to Ireland before it gets here .. |

I am a bit confused! If you have the reference why do they charge you to search? Also is that postage to Australia or to anywhere?

Very thrilled John O'Connor's birth certificate arrived it only took about two weeks. Yes they charged the search fee, the registration no. was a completely different one from the no. I had given which was a film reference I think. He was born at Glenaster in the District of Ardagh in the County of Limerick. Now to try and find them in the Census ....
