Thanks Merry - that would fit as the family lived in Eccleshall Bierlow most of their lives.

Thanks Phoenix. I don't know who the girl is. The couple had many children, but I am wondering whether it could possibly have been their youngest daughter who was born in 1876, and who is in the photo on this thread -
