I have now found his seaman's ticket no 441173 issued 29 March 1849 at Falmouth. It gives his birthdate as 28 June 1831 born at Stedham, Sussex. He had black hair, blue eyes and was 5' 4". He was at sea 1851-1853.
Numbers in the outward voyage column for 1851 are the numbers 546.64.12 and below it -1 -1 7= while in the inward for 1853 again 546.64.12 and below that 64.8.8
64 and 12 are the port numbers for London and Bideford, 1 is Aberdeen, don't know what 546 refers to.
