It actually was my husband's G grandfather, but I know what you mean about Broadclyst
It is a beautiful place with all the thatched cottages and the beautiful old church. One of OH's GG Aunts lived in the gatehouse at Killerton before WW2 and I have some photos of the family picnicking on the lawns. We were last there about 6 or 7 years ago and the people that lived in Hackworthy Cottage (where OH's G grandfather lived) were kind enough to show us around. It was over 60 years since my mother-in-law had been in the cottage and she was able to tell the occupants what had changed in that time. They were genealogists too and were thrilled to meet someone from the house's past.
