Thanks for the suggestion, Tom. I've been trying to find a Hargreaves connection but not managed it so far. There are loads of Hargreaves / Kenyon marriages! Both very common names up there. My gut feeling is that my George is the son of Robert and Mally, because there is a Robert Kenyon living in a close household to George's son James on the 1851 and 1861 censuses, born about 1804-5 Accrington, and there is a Robert Kenyon, son of Robert and Mary, baptised 30 Mar 1805 at St James Haslingden, who could be George's brother, but I haven't found definite proof yet.
