I am now going to try to find John and/or wife Ann Harris prior to 1871 - there may be more marriage options that those two in the 1860s, although given Ann's age there surely cannot be many more.

No thank goodness, there are still just the two possible marriages. Hmm, which to go for.....eeny meeny miny mo! Would she have married at 17 or 20? Would there not have been huge opposition to her marrying a man almost old enough to be her father? Is that why they are hiding in 1861?
