No, I think the ones with a date of baptism were parents who caved in under pressure from the church. Odd though - I am sure that the list I saw did not include baptism dates although it had some crossings-out on the page.

At the time (early 1700s) nonconformists in Darwen didn't baptise infants but the fact of their birth was recorded in Methodist circuit records in Stockport.
