I've just checked the IGI for Shobrooke:
There are birth records for the Horrell(+variants) name between 1750 & 1781 (4 sets of parents).
and marriage records 1751-1804 but the male Horrell marriages are 1751, 1761, 1782, & 1787.
It's all too early for my chap born in 1816.
I went through the registers in Devon Records Office too a couple of years ago -
