And this is the 1871 census entry which it sounds as though you already have:
High Street, Hallaton
Charles Baines Head M 49 Grocer Draper &c Lestersh Hallaton
Sarah Do Wife Mar 55 Do Tugby
Lucy Do Daur Unm 19 Do Hallaton
Anne Do Daur Unm 18 Do Do
Julia Do Daur Un 17 Do Do
Emma Baines Niece Unm 26 Do Leicester
Anne Goward Sister in Law Unm 49 Farmer's Daur Do Tugby

Interesting, since in 1881 Charles' wife is Ann age 59 born Tugby! There is a likely death for Sarah Jan-Mar 1872 Uppingham district age 58, but I can't see a marriage between Charles and Ann, perhaps because of the fact that it was illegal to marry your deceased wife's sister in those days. Bother, I was hoping you could get their marriage certificate and it would tell you the name of Charles' and Thomas' father. Still, maybe Charles will turn out to have married Sarah after 1837 in which case it will still be possible...
