On Monday morning there died at the residence of his sister, Mrs H. Bruce,'Bannockburn,' Brucefield, Mr Edwin William Charles Boyce Cardell, who for several years was in charge of the Kadina Medical Hall. The deceased, who was 68 years of age, was born at Probus,Cornwall, and came to South Australia at the age of 14. For a period of five years he was associated with Dr Frankis, one ofthe early medical men of the State, and
under his tuition became a pharmaceutical chemist. He afterwards entered the
employ of Messrs Main & Son, of Adelaide, as a dispenser, and after spending a
few years at Kapunda and Wallaroo,where he was manager for Mr W. H.
Birks, went to Queensland. He spent thirteen years in that State at Roma and
Cloncurry following his profession, andabout eleven years ago, after being in
charge of the Kadina Medical Hall, and spending a few years at Yorketown, where
he was employed as a chemist by Mr Marston, went to live with his sister, Mrs
H. Bruce, at Brucefield. The funeral of the deceased took place on Tuesday at
the Wallaroo Cemetery, the Rev Albert Morris conducting the burial service, the
funeral arrangements being in charge of
Mr G. R. Haddy.
