So most of the stuff on this thread is irrelevant, but the census entries in the first post are the right James Berry, is that right, Janet?
There are two James Berrys on the 1851 census born at Colne about the same time, yours age 64 and another one age 62 living in Colne (at Flass Bent) with a wife Isabella, a farmer of 93 acres. Just mentioning him so we know to rule him out if we come across him in searching!
