Still slightly off topic, but this thread was discussing WILLIAM HATCH, Licensed Parish Clerk of Portsea Parish and Registrar of Births Deaths and Marriages.
He died in 1881 and I have taken advantage of the £1.50 charge for copies of wills, so I have just downloaded and transcribed his will. I was pleased to see that James Purkis, his brother-in-law and my 2x-great-grandfather and father of Joseph Thomas Purkis, was one of the executors of his will. The other one was Annie Mary Cleverly, his granddaughter, who married just a few months before his death. Her husband became Registrar of Births Deaths and Marriages too.
