Lancashire OPC has a marriage 10 Mar 1856 at Immanuel, Oswaldtwistle: John Clayton, full age, labourer, widower, abode Church Bridge, son of John Clayton, deceased, weaver, and Ann Porritt, full age, spinster, abode Church Bridge, daughter of Samuel Porritt, deceased, weaver. Witnesses John Gaskell and Mary Rothwell.

Edit - found the marriage entry on ancestry and Samuel's occupation is actually Mechanic, so it fits with your Porritt family:
