I have a Porritt match in my DNA matches and have made contact. The person is descended from Alice and Samuel and the Southworths.

I have been researching more and have found

First name(s) William
Last name Brown
Sex Male
Marital status Married
Marriage year 1839
Marriage date 15 Jun 1839
Marriage place Glossop, Glossop, Derbyshire, England
Father's first name(s) Richard
Father's last name Brown
Spouse's first name(s) Alice
Spouse's last name Porritt
Spouse's sex Female
Spouse's marital status Widowed
Spouse's father's first name(s) Ralf
Spouse's father's last name Ellison
Place Glossop
County Derbyshire
Country England
Record set Derbyshire Marriage Index 1538-1910

This has found two further sons for Alice - James and Richard.
Also the family moved to Preston after living at Waterside, Derbyshire, for a while. So the family were close together.

I have found so much more, but not what happened to Ann Porritt and Joseph Parrott. I still haven't found a burial for Samuel Porritt senior or his baptism.
