Yes I don't believe he is Margaret's son but perhaps a step-son or nephew. Perhaps even her son but given the name Hope on the census.
I think he was born in Scotland too Merry but haven't been able to find him in 1851 census.
All I have for Margaret's husband? is that he was John Hope a tinman living in Crawfords Alley, Berwick on Tweed when Barbara was born in 1830 - no marriage for them or even a death for Margaret. Have just sent off for a death certificate of Margaret Horn in 1853 which could be her hopefully.
