Yes, I'd seen those, Kite, thanks. I'm not ruling them out entirely, but the family has no other connection as far as I know with Loughborough, which is about 15 miles from Leicester.
The second one might possibly be interesting, though, come to think about it; an Elizabeth Knight, wife of Daniel, was buried at St. Margaret's, Leicester in 1802, so it's possible that Daniel's parents were married and he was baptised in Loughborough, and they moved to Leicester later.
I'll have a look for a settlement order next time I'm at the Leicester RO.
