Looking at the census in 1881 and 1891 there's a Margaret Carrick daughter of Dorothy and Edward which fits to the Tynemouth birth.
Given that the father had a drink problem after his wife died so might have had one beforehand - he could have been sent to register the birth but forgot. There is a baptism though which the mother would have organised lol.

Except that there is an Edward Carrick / Dorothy Blackburn marriage Jul-Sep 1871 Newcastle, and a Margaret Carrick birth Jul-Sep 1875 Hexham, MMN Blackburn. Hexham was the district for Wylam which is where the Margaret who was dau of Edward and Dorothy was born according to the 1881 census.
