God bless Joseph Clements, the cousin of Ann Clements who married William Alexander.

I hadn't got around to transcribing his long will (3,500 words) but made a start today, then I got hooked. He married twice (Hannah Eyles and Patience Field) but had no children.

His will provides for family members, servants, friends etc. It is very detailed.
Half-way through there is this:

"I Give and Bequeath unto the two Eldest Daughters of William Alexander of
Marlborough in the County of Wilts Gaoler begotten by him on the body of
Ann Clements (his first Wife) the Daughter of Robert Clements of Avebury
aforesaid"

I know that William Alexander the Gaoler married Martha Titcombe in 1801 and after her death he married Eliza or Elizabeth Box in 1807.

However, previously I had a quandry as William Alexander was buried in 1821 at Avebury.

However, the William Alexander the gaoler died intestate and the documents are for 1828. But now they are online I see there is a date of death of 14th July 1821 on the second page! So what a result.

Now I have to look at his second and third marriages and any children born. I know there was an Alfred, Eliza Box, Frederick and Montague.
