Just thinking out loud...have just found a picture dated 1802 of the church which shows the side of the porch where the gravestone is currently mounted with a window, so goodness knows where the grave actually was. The gravestone must have been moved there more recently.

The son whose inscription is on the bottom of the gravestone died in 1824. Maybe it dates from then, son could have left money for a stone for his parents as well as himself, which might also explain why his mother's age appears to give a birthdate of 1732 when the only baptism for a Sarah Franks is in the next parish in 1736.
