Trawling for a surname subject to mistranscription, I discovered that Send with Ripley had rather a lot of marriages where the spouse's name was unknown, as was the individual's surname.
As this seemed a trifle unusual, I checked an entry:

They have entered baptisms as marriages
I am sure this will have happened with other datasets in the past, and hopefully it will be corrected, but for the present it does mean that some people will be hiding from you!
