Edward Symons

Name - "official" name and what they were known as: Edward Symons (alternative spelling Simmons)

Date and place of birth: c. 1749, possibly Bristol

Names of parents: unknown (I'm speculating his father may be named Samuel: his son Edward named a son that and a man of that name was living in St Augustine, Bristol in 1734)

Edited: misremembered year that Samuel Symons was in poll book. Less likely to be his father, but still could be related.

Date and place of baptism - unknown

Marriage: to Ann Gwynn, 6 August 1775, St Stephen, Bristol, Gloucestershire, One of the indexed records of this marriage mentions that he was "of Quay"

Occupation(s) - cordwainer

Addresses where they lived (including county if in UK): 18 Denmark Street, Bristol, Gloucestershire; lived in this street back to 1785 (burial of his infant daughter Rebecca). I think this was in St Augustine.

Date, place and cause of death: 1829 (presumably October), Bristol, Gloucestershire

Date and place of burial: 29 October 1829, St Augustine, Brisol, Gloucestershire

Who were the witnesses at his marriage, please?

Unfortunately, I don't know.

I'm planning on asking a researcher to get me a copy of the original marriage entry when I've saved up the money. Sadly, I'm on a limited income. :(
