It's a while since I looked at this, but I have in my notes that she could be Elizabeth Mapleden who married John Wellden 14 May 1774, as there is a burial of a John Wellden in 1776, but that there is the baptism of a daughter of John and Elizabeth Wellden in 1778 and another John Wellden burial in 1793, so maybe not.

I see there is the marriage of a John Wellden (a bachelor) to an Anne Potter 4 Jun 1777 at New Romney, so just wondering whether the 1778 baptism might have the wrong mother's name. If only the New Romney PR's were available online!

Hmm, now that the New Romney PR's are online, I see that the John Vidgen / Elizabeth Wellden marriage has her down as "Elizabeth Wellden Widow of this Parish Spinster"! One of the witnesses was a Susanna Wellden. Elizabeth's signature says Elizabeth Wellden, so Widow wasn't her surname.

And just for the record, the mother's name on that 1778 baptism (post #3) is shown as Elizabeth, as the transcription said.

A Susanna Wellden was baptised 11 May 1755, the daughter of John and Mary. But she doesn't seem to have had a sister Elizabeth. She did have a brother John baptised 1752, who could be the one who married Elizabeth Mapleden. Susan Wellden was a witness at that wedding.
