ElizabethHerts I think I have seen one that census and they are a likely family - thing is none of her children were called any of those names! Not that thats conclusive it's that elusive marriage cert of her and James I need to get both her father's name and profession and James too. James is a mystery too really. Interestingly on the other thread Harry's Mum found a couple of people called Benge and Sawyer in Kent.I do think the Benge's came from Kent originally. But both Elizabeth and James put London on their places of birth - Elizabeth Paddington/Marylebone even St George Hanover Square (which I think is a red herring) and James consistently Whitechapel/Stepney. |
Have you found any likely Elizabeths in 1851? I'm thinking she may have been married to someone else at that juncture, hence no marriage to James. :(
