Just one of dozens of news articles for this chap, having spent a week or two searching I have a collection of over 600 articles for varied members of the Goulson family just from Lincolnshire alone

Well done Glen - a treasure trove indeed .. it helps if the name is not your ordinary garden variety..

I'm sure the searches miss a few that are read as Coulson, they certainly pick a few up that way but I have had a few years practice, it also helps that this lot use only a handful of forenames over all the generations. Another really good thing is they tended to be self employed or employers and I have found a few articles, (especially the chap above for some reason) that relate to their employees and give the name of Goulson as employer.

Two spring to mind for one chap, one is an amusing court case and the second a gruesome accident enquiry, by chance a brother to Benjamin used to sit on a lot of those so there is a lot of background history about the city they lived in.

Newspapers certainly paint a more interesting and complete picture of ancestors' lives and the times in which they lived. Having ancestors who travelled to the other side of the world to start a new life, I am always interested in what would have influenced their decisions, rather than just bdms .. Julie
