Esther Mason

I only have James's name from his daughter Esther's baptism 19 Aug 1733 at St Nicholas, Great Yarmouth. But I'm not certain that the parents' names on the baptism are correct as she is the only child of James and Elizabeth, while there are other baptisms for children of two couples: John and Elizabeth; James and Mary.

The 1754 Yarmouth poll book has brothers James and Thomas Mason, sailmakers, but there seem to have been a lot of Masons there so no idea whether this is my James or not.

Didn't realise I had never updated this.

Mother's name on Esther's baptism is Eliza or maybe Elizabeth but there doesn't seem to be a James and Elizabeth Mason couple, but there is a James and Rebecca couple with a daughter Rebecca jr who ends up living in Bermondsey and buried in Horsleydown (where my Esther's family moved to), so I am going to assume that this is Esther's family unless I find something to disprove it.

So I reckon my James is the James Mason who married Rebecca Riseborough 15 Oct 1728 at St Nicholas, Great Yarmouth. They had four daughters, Esther being the youngest, and then Rebecca married Thomas Heach on the 17th Jul 1737, so James must have died between 1733 and 1737, perhaps at sea.

A possible baptism for James - 1706, Lowestoft, son of William and Alice. But my James didn't name a daughter Alice, so maybe not.
