Names changed by deed poll on M/Cert

Any suggestions how to find the name of a bride who changed her name by deed poll prior to the marriage? The marriage took place in South Yorks in May 1969

Bride's details are Joyce Mary Turner (name changed by deed poll), aged 45, occ Music Teacher. Father Samuel Crane, occ Baker (deceased).

I can find no trace of a record for Joyce Mary Crane that comes close in the bmd so I suspect the fathers details may not be correct.

Glen

How are you discounting the various Joyce Crane births?

I'm having a "how the heck" moment, only three results when I searched before, now there are loads.

Is she definitely deceased, Glen?

Olde Crone 01-07-18 15:55

Have you found either of them in 1939?

Couldn't her first names have been changed in the deed poll too?

By the way, that certificate gives her father's name as Robert Samuel Crane.

And she is a widow.

Odd that they both changed their names. I can see why she might, but not why he might!

I made the mistake of not looking at the image you posted!

So, Robert Samuel Crane 1904-1961?

Lincoln isn't in Yorkshire! lol

Might not be that one as he seems to be a shunter in 1939.
