Additional info:
Elizabeth appears in Creeting in 1792 to marry William MAYHEW who may have accompanied her from another planet as I can't find his origins either.

They baptise just one child, my 3xg-gm Elizabeth in 1793 & then returned from whence they came.

No sign of more children & no sign of any burial.

Daughter Elizabeth married in Creeting in 1813 & had 3 children in Creeting, Coddenham & Stonham Aspal before moving to Ipswich sometime between her 1st husband's death in 1817 & her 2nd marriage in 1833.

There is this burial:

9th April 1837
Elizabeth Mayhew
aged 71
St Mary, Coddenham

This would give an approximate year of birth of 1766.

Sorry Elizabeth, don't know how to put 2 quotes in one reply so will respond separately.

Yes, I had high hopes for that one for a long time & had in fact pencilled it in on my tree but further investigation showed that she was the 2nd wife of a James MAYHEW.

I now seem to have lost your 2nd message Elizabeth but yes, I have always felt they should at least be buried in the area. The problem is that MAYHEW is a very common surname in many Suffolk parishes & William & Elizabeth are too. I can give you the lineage for many MAYHEW families back to the 1600s especially where they have more distinctive names like Andrew & Ferrian (or variations) but can't link them to my William.

Sorry, should be talking about BULL but needless to say that is also very common.

Thanks for your interest though.

Sorry, Glen, I deleted my 2nd message because I realised that you had already said that daughter Elizabeth married at Creeting.

What a shame that the above burial isn't your lady.

It's a needle in a haystack scenario, isn't it, with all those Mayhews around, but no trace of yours.

I found a baptism for an Elizabeth BALLS in 1765 in either Creeting or Coddenham, can't remember which & followed that family through many generations over the eastern parishes of Suffolk but can't convince myself she is the one.

The two documents I have, marriage & baptism entries show definitely BULL on one & possible BALL on the other but although the first part of the second letter is curved, it certainly isn't joined to the other side. Of course BALL & BALLS are also common Suffolk names.

Glen, I do sympathise. I have a similar scenario with one of my families.
